Open end rivet nuts have two open ends, which allow for the use of long screws and bolts. They also have heads with wide flanges that increase strength in softer materials.

Aluminum has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is wear resistant, nonmagnetic and conductive. It is easier to form and machine than steel and is naturally noncorrosive.

Flange head types have flanges that extend from the rivet nut s head. Small flanges allow for a near-flush finish, while large flanges provide increased strength and prevent pull-through.
